Photo of Helen PizzeyHelen lives on the Dorset coast where she has been working as Assistant Editor of PURBECK! Journal and on the steering committee of the Dorset Writers' Network.

Since graduating from the Bath Spa Creative Writing MA in 2006, her poetry has been published in magazines such as The North, Orbis, The Interpreter's House and Mslexia, as well as in The French Literary Review and Orange Coast Review in the US. She has also had poems in several anthologies, including those from Templar Poetry and Cinnamon Press. Online, her work has appeared in The High Window, Ink Sweat & Tears, The Irish Literary Review and Sudden Prose.

Helen has been commissioned by award-winning composer Ian Wilson and has had poems set for large-scale choral/orchestral works in Ireland, including for the opening of the Derry Peace Bridge and a commemoration of RMS Titanic performed by the Ulster Symphony Orchestra and broadcast on Radio 3.

Her short fiction, 'Dad's Cap', was a runner-up in the 2013 Bridport Prize.
