Mavis Gulliver lives on the Isle of Islay from where she travels extensively throughout the Hebrides. Her fascination for islands mainly finds expression in photography and poetry. A regular contributor of illustrated articles for Scottish Islands Explorer magazine, her poetry has appeared in many magazines including Envoi, Iota, Poetry Scotland and Northwords Now. Her work has also featured in several anthologies, notably These Islands, We Sing (Polygon 2011). In addition to Slate Voices, a collaboration with Jan Fortune, her first solo collection, Waymarks was published by Cinnamon Press in 2015. Her popular trilogy of fantasy adventure novels for young readers, The Hagstone Chronicles, is also published by Cinnamon Press: Cry At Midnight (2014), Clickfinger (2015) and The Snake Wand (due out July 2016).
