As some of you probably already know, Cinnamon holds writing weeks in the idylic surroundings of Ty'n y coed, in the Conwy valley, every spring and autumn. To give a flavour of this year's spring sessions, here are the impressions of one of the writers who attended the course, Nick Jones:
I have just returned from my second writing workshop at Ty'n y coed. I had such an exhilarating time last year that I was prepared for it not being as good this time but that was not the case. The small size of the group, with six of us to three tutors, as well as a visiting guest writer, makes it an intense and worthwhile experience. The workshops had been thought out well in order to stimulate our imagination and try different writing techniques. Being able to discuss these in a nurturing environment with a cross section of people from different walks of life who all have a passion for words was a privilege. The sessions where there was one to one feedback on our individual work were particularly helpful but so too were the separate group discussions where we shared our work with one another. The social side was good with a sense of camaraderie in all trying to improve our writing whether poetry or prose not to mention the shared mealtimes and evening readings. There are great local walks especially to St. Celynnin's church and its holy well, a magical place. The accommodation was very good and the tutors did everything they could to help us and make us feel at ease. I can't wait for the next one!
