We are a tiny press run as a not-for-profit organisation with all our admin work done on a voluntary basis and helped by amazing authors who keep us afloat with their time and goodwill.
Most of our new authors come through the literary competitions so please take a look at these. We are otherwise currently closed for submissions and are not able to discuss unsolicited manuscripts or return unsolicited work. Time constraints mean we will not reply to submissions emailed to us. (Please note that if you send work to our Dorset office we only get a scan of the first page and the manuscript will be recycled)
We do occassionally have open submissions slots or other opportunities, so it’s worth signing up for the newsletter (you’ll find a link in the footer). When we are open, we look for manuscripts from writers who are familiar with our books and have a strong sense of how their particular manuscript will fit with our list and values.
Our literary awards provide an excellent opportunity for writer development and/or publication.
And we also have a wonderful hybrid imprint in association with Rowan Tree Editing for those who would like a quicker route and are able to contribute to the costs.
