We were bowled over in our 20th year by all those who helped us with generous donations.
We’re a not for profit, receive no external funding (which keeps our publications indepent and innovative) and all the time and work delivering the competitions and launches, editing our Cinnamon titles and doing all the admin needed to keep an indie press running is given voluntarily.
One of the ways we’ve survived for 20 years is by putting an emphasis on helping writers to develop their craft and we are asking you to support us to fund two mentorships for emerging writers who can’t afford to pay for mentoring. Our mentored writers, both through Cinnamon Pencil and Kith mentoring (delivered by Jan) have a fantastic track record of going on to publication. Former mentored writers have won the Rubery Award best poetry collection of the year for the last two, and one of our mentored novelists won the 2023 Caledonia Novel Award, while others have also won or been shortlisted for awards.
Mentoring makes a real difference and we want it to be available to as many people as possible, regardless of their ability to pay.
We need to raise £4000 to fund two places. Can you help?
