Since the first lockdown our wonderful distributors at IPS have been sending out books for us and continue to do so.
When you order, please include a phone number in your account details (they will only use this if they have trouble finding you and it is particularly essential if you are ordering from outside the UK).
IPS have worked hard to stay open in a safe way for their staff, but the turn around from them picking and packing and shipping plus post, which is still slow in the UK, is taking at least 1-2 weeks. If your books haven’t arrived after two weeks please let us know and we will check with the distributors. Overseas orders have also been distrupted, including by Brexit and new taxes so can take up to 4 weeks and occasionally longer.
Currently, the backlog of UK mail from postal strikes plus seasonal flus resulting in staff shortages are also impacting delivery times. Please be aware the distributors are working hard and doing all they can but only those operating oppressive working practices can offer super-fast delivery in the current climate so do order with some good lead-in time if you need books for a particular date.
From 1st of July 2021, shipments from the UK to EU countries will be subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) charges in the country of delivery. Orders placed through this website are shipped Delivery Duties Unpaid (DDU) and customers in the EU are likely to have to pay import VAT (and customs duties, if payable) and a handling fee in the receiving country. These changes are the result of Brexit and new EU laws in response and are causing havoc with micro and small presses. We understand that our supporters may wish to look at other options for sourcing our books in the EU. Online options that will include the tax upfront on a discounted prince plus free worldwide delivery include The Book Depository. We are also working with our partners at Inpress to explore other solutions.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and are based on zones and numbers of books in the basket. Rising postage costs have meant that we have had to revise the costs of shipping, which is set by our distrirbutors. Rather than charge the full costs of shipping we’ve calculated a shared amount and also provide free shipping on orders of £75 and over in the UK and orders of £99 and over in Europe.

Sales are handled securely and we do not get your payment data. To make a purchase click on the item, check the basket is correct and proceed to checkout if you are happy to continue, fill in your details and continue, confirm details and purchase. You can pay either using the checkout button which takes your card details and processes them via Stripe or using the yellow PayPal. Both Stripe and PayPal encrypt your details and your card details are not passed on to us. Please check your basket before proceeding to check out and check your data is correct before confirming the purchase as information can easily be changed at this stage. Your purchase is committed only when you confirm details/purchase.

When buying goods and services on the Internet, the consumer is entering a legally binding contract. However, as a distance consumer you have the right to cancel your order for either goods or services for up to seven days after receipt provided they are not for downloadable products which cannot be refunded.
If you are booking a course there is a non-refundable deposit on booking (though we refund it in the event that we cancel). It’s a good idea to take out holiday insurance in case you are prevented from travelling (for live courses) by bad weather, illness or other insurable event, as we are unable to cover you for these events. At six weeks before the course start date any cancellation will incur a 50% charge and from four weeks before the course this will become 100%. However, if we fill your place in this time we do not make a charge or will refund the difference between what you have paid and the deposit.
